Last 2018, President Donald Trump enacted the 2018 US Farm Bill, which legalized the commercial production of hemp legal in all fifty states. This officially reclassified hemp for commercial uses after decades of legal enforcement and statues conflating hemp and marijuana. The Farm Bill distinguishes between the two by removing hemp from the Controlled Substances Act.
