Is CBD Legal?

The 2018 Farm Bill

Last 2018, President Donald Trump enacted the 2018 US Farm Bill, which legalized the commercial production of hemp legal in all fifty states. This officially reclassified hemp for commercial uses after decades of legal enforcement and statues conflating hemp and marijuana. The Farm Bill distinguishes between the two by removing hemp from the Controlled Substances Act.

Legality of CBD in 2019

Cannabidiol (CBD) has recently gained popularity, appearing in everything from lotion to drinks and skincare products. The question on everyone’s minds is whether or not these products are actually legal. Currently, this is a hot item of discussion—and for good reason. While CBD extracted from hemp under with under 0.3% THC is legal on the federal level, some states have come out and said that they do not possess state-specific regulations supporting the retail sale of CBD products. All hemp products under 0.3% THC are legal for online sales throughout the nation.

Soothing Solutions Is Florida Hemp Pilot Bill Compliant

On July 1, 2019, Gov. Ron De Santis signed legislation that legalized the retail sale of CBD oil and state-licensed hemp farming. Currently, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, a former medical marijuana lobbyist, is establishing guidelines for what can or cannot be sold as CBD oil. As of the date this bill went into effect, Florida now has some of the strictest CBD regulations in the entire country. For this reason, Soothing Solutions is proud to be Florida Hemp Pilot Bill compliant. Every product we produce is lab tested for pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, and mycotoxins and is verified to be within 15% of the stated potency. Therefore, you can feel secure knowing that what’s on the label can be found within the bottle every single time.
